Arrival
When I first arrived to Paris, I was overwhelmed with a sense of exhaustion and excitement. After an exhausting school year, this study abroad was much needed. Sitting in the car driving into the city, my mind was racing with all the possibilities this trip was about to bring. When we finally got to the hotel, it was my mission to get right back out to explore the city a little on my own. Being alone in a foreign city made me nervous, but I wouldn't know how much I would enjoy my own company until a couple days later. The destination for that day ended up being Le Cimetière de Montparnasse, i.e., the Montparnasse Cemetery. Walking on the grounds was such a great way for me to start processing where I am and the journey I was about to embark on. After spending some time there, I walked to the nearest Franprix and picked up the essentials: a baguette and a coke. I then went back to the hotel and slept for the rest of the day and night.
